I currently play WoW on my 13' MacBook Pro, with 2.5 GHz i5, 8GB of RAM and Intel HD 4000 1024 MB; so I think I might be able to provide some input! I typically play with everything on low, shadows off, water as low as possible. The only thing that I have really high is my textures and those are typically on good. Can I Run World of Warcraft. I play WoW on a 5 year old PC laptop (I did upgrade my RAM), and since my husband is oh-so-fond of telling me how much better Mac's are than PC's, then I would certainly think so! Lack of memory and processing speed are the biggest causes of LAG, so as long as the macbook that you choose is comparable to other desk models you should be fine. For some strange reason my 27' i7 also struggles in OS X. I can play with everything on Ultra using Bootcamp and Windows 7, but it kneels when I try in OS X. Taskpaper 3 6 – simple to do list. WoW also recommends 'Good' on most of the settings. You get higher FPS if you turn off Sunshafts, set Shadows to 'Good' and set water to 'Fair'.

Hi all!
First of all, I want to say hi to everyone since I am a new Mac owner. Yep after the miserable experience that is Vista, I decided that it was time to go on to bigger and better things and that is a Mac. I also am going into photography so I wanted to have something that would work well.
But the main reason that I am here is to ask a question. I have a MacBook with a 2.4 ghz duo core intel processor and 4 GB of ram. I am running WOW on it but it seems to get very hot. Is this normal for this notebook or should I be concerned. I am getting 30 FPS in the game which I think is decent but I need to know, will playing WOW for extended periods (four hours or more) overheat the notebook or will I be okay? Is anyone else out there playing WOW (I am sure they are) and if so how is the game running on your MacBook?
Thanks!
